It’s funny how life throws you curve balls here In Mudville. Our retirement plans haven’t quite gone as originally envisioned. In our house we’re feeling the weight of isolation doused with the sober realization that current behaviors are not sustainable; we can’t continue to “retreat” from life or each other. I think the pandemic may have altered priorities in an unhealthy way so that Doug and I willingly over-committed to our respective “causes” which is depleting our quality time with each other and as a family. It’s also creating an unhealthy competition between “me time” and “us time” so thanks for shining the light on what we’ve been talking about for weeks here at casa V. It’s like you intimated last night...baby steps...

I was on a great zoom workshop last with Twin Lights Coaching about forgiveness...there have certainly been times in my life that forgiveness was very difficult. I have found as I grow as an individual, forgiveness is a much more humbling experience. I also know that forgiving does not mean forgetting, but forgiveness allows closure. If you have been carrying extra weight around and can't let go, do yourself the favor and work through the process...it is worth it. Life is a precious gift and love is a much greater reward than hate.

The trauma of my heart attack and sudden death caused us to avoid celebrating my survival and recovery. As we worked through the experience with Liz and Mark, we realized the anniversary is something we will start celebrating.
